The Level 1 ‘Materials and Processing Technologies’ achievement standards were developed as part of the initial NCEA review of achievement standards. The review was placed on hold until the new national curriculum was developed. The last year these standards can be used is 2027.

In 2028 there will be no NCEA Level 1, as we move to the new Phase 5 subjects, which will be taught in Year 11 from 2028.
